Export .DAE or .OBJ w/ Decals

I've previously used a program called Augment to display models I've created in Fusion 360 in AR. Previously it didn't matter that the .OBJs I was importing didn't retain textures or decals, however a potential sponsor of my project has asked for this to have their logos, which I've added on Fusion 360 as 'decals'. By using a Simlab plugin to export to .DAE I have now been able to retain textures but not decals. Does anyone know how to export in either .DAE or .OBJ (the supported file types) while retaining decals? Thanks

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for posting. Unfortunately there is not way to force Fusion 360 to export mesh files (STL or OBJ) while including decals. The mesh formats do not traditionally allow this data to be included and there is no workaround for this current limitation of Fusion 360.

If you'd like to see this option considered for a future update to Fusion, please post in the Fusion 360 Ideastation. We appreciate your input.

I'm trying to do this also, export an .OBJ with decals. Is this something that you can do now? 2 years later?

Thanks!

Is this really still not possible, even in USD format? We use Fusion as our base modeller but its such a pain to have to retexture when going to Unity/Sketchfab/blender etc...

It would be so nice if it kept the decal texture co-orindates.

Ugh! I just spent a couple of days learning Fusion and have come across this issue, I can't believe there's no way to pull a Decal out as an object for 3D printing 😞
