event simulation solving

I am testing out event simulation in fusion 360. Very simple, using only 2 components which are primitives: one cylinder going at 900m/s against a 50mm steel plate, just for fun. i did the checklist, which said everything was fine: i assigned materials, i fixed some parts of the steel plate and the cylinder, and added the initial velocity. i launched the sim but it doesn't end, it seems stuck at the solving stage. Is there anything I can do to solve this?

Hi @2554428C

The Event Simulation is a very time-consuming type of analysis. The question is, what size of a mesh and what total time did you define.

I use 15mm mesh size and the total duration is 0.001s. it is still running...

Hi @2554428C

Are you able to share the model?

Hi @2554428C

I calculated your model. It took about 1:30h. After that, I modified the study a little, I set the bullet as rigid, and I added extra deletion criteria (principal strain). Now, the model is calculated after 1 minute.

Here is the link to the upgraded model by me:
