Error with configuration when using variable patterns

Hi All,

I have a part with a variable number of offtake pipes. Everything is the same except the number of offtake pipes.

I have a user parameter "OfftakeNumber" which has no units and a rectangular pattern of a straight line, over a fixed distance, with the quantity set to OfftakeNumber:

Later on I have two pipes, (one to cut the hole in the box and another to create the pipe stub) which are configured to be supressed in the 2-Offtake configuration and unsuppressed in the 3-Offtake configuration.

All good so far, however, if I switch to the 2-Blower configuration and then back to the 3-Blower configuration, the two pipes mentioned above lose their reference geometry:

I know that I could change the pattern to have all of the pipe paths that I might ever need in it and then make the variable the separation between elements of the pattern and then suppress the pipes I don't want, but it feels like that is much more inelegant and I'm hoping that there is just something I am doing wrong.

Hi,

Hi Gunther,

I don't use the pattern tool outside of sketches, I've found that it has lead to position initialisation errors in parent assemblies and thus problems with joints and rigid groups. Until that becomes a more stable I'm going to avoid it, but thanks for the suggestion.

This has never happened to me before.

1. Patterns in sketches are only updated in sketches.
2. Features based on this then have to be created manually again.
In your design, this is shown by the fact that warnings appear for pipes because the sketch reference is missing.

Can you post a design where that occurs?

If there's a bug, it needs to be reported.

That's alright, I'm in conversation with fusion support about it and a few other bugs at the moment.
