Hi everyone

I started working with Fusion 360 recently and I loved it. But suddenly it got crashed and isn't opening. I tried uninstalling it completely as suggested in the website and re-installing it but the problem still persists.

Can anyone please help me out as early as possible?error.pngerror 1.pngerror 2.png

Hi @Anonymous,

I only see one Crash Error Report (CER) sent in by you and that looks like the original crash you experienced in the CAM environment.  However, I do have a theory on your crashes.  Can you try to invoke Fusion 360 from the Windows Start menu? We did an update on Thursday.  As you know we do something called live updates, where we update the client silently in the background, it is possible that your desktop shortcut did not get updated and is still referencing the old incomplete install.

Let me know if this fixes your problem, if not, I will work with you to find a solution.

Thank you,

Kris Berg

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for letting us know the problem. Do you remember what you did before the crash? Were you simulating CAM operations? If so, did you select the Stock check box in Simulate dialog to show the stock in graphics window? If possible, can you please share your project to me to take a try on your designs? You can share to Debbie.Lou@autodesk.com and Rene.Fonseca@autodesk.com. Thank you.

Hi again -

We believe that this problem could be related to an incompatibility of your OS and/or hardware with a new version of one of the CAM-related DLLs in the recent update.

Can you try the following, and let me know whether it can resolve this issue?

1. Install the latest service pack for Windows 7. – Not sure if you already have this.
2. Reboot.
3. Start command prompt as admin.
4. Run “bcdedit /set xsavedisable 0”.
5. Power off and restart.
6. Start Fusion

Thank you,

  Jeff

Hi

I have also same problem like this. And I attached the error report window below.  I have updated my Windows to version 10. Before that, there was no problem.

Thanks a lot.

Best.

Hi @Anonymous,

I can take a peek at the Crash Error Report if you want! When you submit it, it should give you a reference number. Can you give that to me so I can check it or can you PM me your email address that you send it in with? Thanks!

Hi @newleo01487,

Sorry to hear that! I just checked into your crash error reports and it looks like this might be related to your graphics card. Just to check - do you have any other graphics card on your machine besides the Intel chipset? Can you try updating the graphics card driver if possible? Also, if you have two graphics card, try running Fusion with the other one.

Let me know what you find, thanks!

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 Community!

Can you expand a bit on what is happening? Are you crashing when trying to launch and generating CER reports? Was Fusion once working but now has stopped?

Thanks,

Hi,

Thanks for the welcoming!

Yes, I've been using Fusion for about a year or so now and I didn't have any problem before. And since beginning of this week every time I try to launch it, it just keep showing the error report.

I've tried to reinstall it, restart the laptop but the problem still persist.

As I have 2 laptop, one at home and one in the office, and both have fusion installed, I've tried to use the one at home and it did not have the same problem, only the other one.

I'm not really sure what else I can do to fix it...

I hope this is elaborate enough for you help me to figure out whats the issue?

Hi @Anonymous,

Can you please do me a favor and submit that crash report, as well as type your email address in the box so that it is tied to your email so we can track this? Once submitted what is the CER number so I can look it up.

Thanks,

Hi @Anonymous,

I have another user running into this as well, so I would be curious to see a few things. Do you have any AV running? If so, can you add Fusion to the white list/exceptions list? Do you have any cloud syncs going on in the background (such as one drive)? If so, can you stop all of those and try. Can you also see if a Web Services log was generated (see this guide here for how to find it) and if so, can you please post it here for me to review.

Thanks,

Hi,

Thank you so much. It works fine now. We had some changes in our domain permission and that's probably the reason.

Cheers!
