I have a problem, with taking my design from one folder to another.

Im trying to build a lot of small design, so i can pick and place in my other design.

I can't bring my own design from one to another of my design

Is says

Error: Inserting a distributed design from one project to another is not currently supported.

Project of current design: (my design 1)
Project of design being inserted: (my design 2)

Ps and can't export it either.

Hi @CarstenElkjaer,

Thank you for posting in the forum! That is the current limitation. Could you try downloading a copy of a distributed design here, uploading a copy to the project and then inserting it to another design?

Please let me know if you have any questions!

This is a ridiculous limitation and the solution is a joke.

This does completely negate the benefits of having reusable designs in the projects we've made. Do you have an estimate for when you will be able to fix this?

If your design which you are trying to import contains any Linked components try Break Link, save the project and try importing

Just an update as this is an old thread. If you use a team hub you can have linked designs across projects. Not sure if you have access to a team hub with the personal license.

Running into this issue right now.. do you have any information on how one can link designs across projects using Team Hubs? Even copying the file from one project to another fails using the Team Hub. The only "solution" I have now is to export the file from one project and import it into another which is a nightmare if I ever want to make any changes to this file.

I have the same issue, I wanted to create a component library (so a seperate project for the library) but all I can do is to put the library and all my designs in the same folder (so called "projects" are just folders) so it's a big mess.

This limitation  is ridiculous. Any workaround will be appreciated, I didn't figured how to use Team Hub but I have personnal version and I'm not it's available.
