entering dimensions in design sketch mode not working the way it used to

In the past I have been able to work in design mode with sketching by starting a line, circle, etc and hit tab to be able to key in a dimension for what I want the line length or circle diameter to be.  This is not working anymore.  I am seeing different things now where I might be able to key in the dimension, but after pressing enter it will use the dimension that was drawn from the mouse movement.  Now it seems like the only way I can figure out how to get specific dimensions for what I want is to use the mouse movement and manually draw it to what I want.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

You probably are using Fusion 360 on a Windows 7 based computer.  This is a problem that has been reported and probably will not be fixed because Fusion 360 is not supported on Windows 7 anymore.  You can go to this forum post and maybe find a workaround.

Edit: I believe you can switch to adding dimensions using the dimension command.

That said....

I did read of another user encountering this same issue, and believe it or not, if you run right-click and run Fusion in "Windows 7 compatibility mode", that problem might just go away.

Now, if you were finally just looking for a good reason to upgrade the PC, just ignore what I posted 😄
