Emboss won't use sketch in an external component

The emboss tool won't allow the use of sketch geometry from an external component.

Root

-> Body A

-> External Component

    -> Sketch 1

With Root component active, try to use the Emboss tool to emboss geometry from Sketch 1 onto Body A. This does work with Extrude.
