Editing sketches with objects in front of sketch plane

I can't remember if this has always been the workflow or it has changed, but when I work on sketches in design and there is a body/component in front of my sketch plane, it makes it difficult to edit my sketch lines. Instead of being able to click and manipulate my sketches through a body/component, it selects the body/component instead of the sketch. I prefer the priority of selecting my sketch over selecting a body. If I wanted to select a body, I rather select it's outline or vertices to reference the body.

The Selection filter - Select Through, and 

Body / Component eyeballs,

will both help this situation.
