editing INVENTOR files on FUSION 360

I'm having some trouble with using files from Inventor on Fusion 360, both as a .IPT file and a .STP file. I can open the file and see the model on Fusion 360, but there is no timeline of how the part was made on Inventor so i can't go back and edit whats been done previously. I can add onto the model that's already there, but again there is no timeline and i cant go back and edit anything that i have done to it myself on Fusion 360. Any suggestions on how to solve this or am i trying to do something that just isn't possible on Fusion 360? Thanks

Chris.

Its the latter- design history from inventor is not carried over into Fusion 360.

Assuming the Inventor user did most of the geometry correct (and not using Loft or Form features) you should be able to use Direct Editing tools in Fusion 360 to make changes to the geometry.

Attach your file(s) here if you can't figure it out.
