Hi.

I want to share with you my experience with new fusion 2.0.18460.

I am very frustrated to see we cant return in function and edit them.

WHY ?!

If we cannot ajust function as well, it becomes useless.

Please, fix that...

Please add more information, preferably a video of what you are seeing.  I do not know what a "function" is to you.  A parameter expression?  A feature?  A sketch?  All of those things seem to work as expected.  Please share more.

When I make function, like bevel... for exemple.
After validation, I cannot return in this function and edit it again.
If i want to make change, now i need to create new one or delete previous function.

Before, you could come back as many times as you wanted on a function, reorder, etc.
Simply double click on it, or right click and edit function.
Today we no longer do any of that.

You need Capture Design History - turned on.  Timeline.

No timeline - you are correct.

Might help…

@chefild - nothing has changed here.  It sounds like you are editing a Direct Modeling design.  You need to start capturing design history:

If this design started from an imported design (STEP, IGES, etc), design history will be off - you need to turn it on before you do subsequent modeling on that design.

This is my tree structure of my project.
I have started my project by opening STEP file.
Maybe that's the reason.

screen1.png

By clicking "Capture design history", the bottom time line return but i cannot edit my previous functions.
But it seems to work if I create new functions.

Why when i create new blank project from scratch, i have the bottom time line, but when starting with STEP file no?

Thank you for your quick help !

Hi,

Imports from third-party formats such as STEP, IPT, SKP ... always take place without a history.
Existing elements cannot be edited, but can only be edited in direct modeling mode (DM).
After activating the history, only the new actions can be edited.

@chefild

1. Open STEP file and Save.

2. Enable Capture Design History.

3. Now, after completing #2, edit your part with history of actions captured.

"I have started my project by opening STEP file."

yes, that's why I said:  "If this design started from an imported design (STEP, IGES, etc), design history will be off - you need to turn it on before you do subsequent modeling on that design."

I had the same problem recently (12 / 2024)

MY SOLUTION :

Save, Quit, logout / restart Fusion ( non-commercial version).

I was then able to modify any expression again.
