DXF issues

I'm using Fusion in my classroom for 2D design to go to a vinyl cutter. We are exporting as dxf files. This usually works just fine, however sometimes the dxf file has missing lines when brought to the vinyl cutter software (or photopea and other software that opens dxf). Is there a recommended way to use fusion for 2d designs for vinyl cutting?

Thanks

Hi,

That sounded so promising but sadly it did not help. Even if I open the dxp
in Fusion from the exported dxf, it doesn't come back correctly regardless
of the conversion tolerances I tried.

Thanks

Hi,

I can confirm the error.
I also noticed in the DXF export from a new file that splines were even ignored and replaced from straight lines.
The error occurs both when importing into ACAD and when re-importing into Fusion.

I think there could @jeff_strater become active.

Hi,

I rechecked the behavior after restarting the application and found that the error occurs for both the fit point spline and the control point spline only when the endpoints of  splines are connected by a single polyline.

If you create a 2d drawing from your sample file then save as a DXF it seems to work.

This is what I see in Rhino. File's attached. I used the ANSI drawing template so the DXF is in inches.

Hi,

It is about saving a sketch as DXF!

Yes and you've proved it doesn't work so does @user71846 have to wait until it's fixed in a month or 2 or use a workaround? If a workarounds are no longer allowed to be put forward fine I'll delete my suggestion.

A small hint that this is a workaround would have avoided all doubts.

Thanks all. I'm planning to simply disallow using splines as they should be
learning to design without them anyway.

Thanks
