Hi,
I'm using Fusion360 to design some elements that then need to be joined with elements machined on CNC router, so I tried exporting sketches as DXF to have perfectly matching elements, but I can't import those dxf's to my CAM software, which is UcanCam. I was told by developers that the DXF has to be exported in older AutoCad 2000 DXF Format, but I wasn't able to find any setting that would allow that. Is it possible to do so?
Thank you for your help.
Hi - is it Tom?
Firstly, The only success I have had is using the following procedure when exporting (saving) to DXF rather than exporting via other menu links (see attached PIC).
The second issue is that some old software does not read the DXF file so you might need to run it through another program or utility to convert.
We have had some success reading the Fusion exported DXF files into Autodesk Inventor then re-saving/exporting to DXF using specific settings (I can forward if you have access to this option)?
Alternatively, use one of the following utilities (one of which you can install into Fusion).
Good hunting!
Regards,
Tony
Hi,
what does it mean, older Version?
Which version is needed?
DXF Exports from Fusion are AC 1014.
If you need older ones, import it to apps and save as "older version" or use other converters.

I assume Tom is having the same issue we have with some apps in that UcanCam cannot read the DXF format correctly.
I understand this is due to older software not being able to read curves/splines in DXF files unless they are converted to poly-lines. The Autodesk utility mentioned in my last post does this but you need to read the instructions on how to use it in Fusion 360 ( The sketch in question needs to be opened in edit mode before you can select the sketch and use the utility to output the DXF).
I hope this helps?
Tony
