Drawing Detail View Line Errors

Hello,

I have a design which uses the sheet metal functionality to allow my shape to wrap onto a cylinder.

When I put this design into a drawing and use the Detail View it continues lines outside of the boundary, and will in some places show lines that appear elsewhere on the model.Detail Views Line Errors.png

I had a similar problem before and the issue was due to fillets on the model causing the line errors. There are no fillets anywhere on this model, so I do not know why this is occurring.

Is there anything I can do to fix this, or is this a problem with Fusion 360?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,

This looks like a bug.  The detail view should respect the view boundary on the base view.  Can you send me this drawing?  From the data panel, click the version number for the drawing > Open Details on Web, then download the Fusion 360 Archive (this will zip up the design and drawing in a f3z) and send to christopher.miller@autodesk.com so I can take a look and get a bug logged for this.

In the meantime if you move or grip-edit the boundary on the base view does that change the behavior?  I'm wondering if there is some specific feature causing the view to get confused.

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Dan,

Thank you for the file, I was able to reproduce the problem and have entered a bug in the system for this (internal reference FDWG-9986).  I will forward this along to the team.

Thanks,

Chris

Hello Chris,

It is no problem about the file, I am glad you have been able to reproduce it.

At least I know it is due to a bug in Fusion and most likely not my model.

Thank you for looking into this.

Best regards,

Dan

I am experiencing a similar issue with a model/drawing of mine. There is one component that doesn't want to be held to the Detail View boundary line. I can't share my model as it is for a client but attaching a screenshot here and wondering if there was ever any resolution to this?

Thanks!
