Drawing crashing/closing on click when adding a note to some components in the drawing

Hi, 

I'm completing the drawings for a design with approximately 250 parts. When I click on certain components to add notes to the drawing it crashes immediately. The other open drawings remain open. The drawing is not multi-sheet and has only a single drawing. I've already completed about 20 drawings for this design, some of them multi-sheet with over 20 sheets with no problems. It just developed today. 

Funny thing is that it only seems to happen with hardware models I imported from McMaster Carr in STEP format. 

Any suggestions appreciated because I'm at a standstill with no workarounds, deadlines looming.

Hi, 

Seems like one of the imported STEP file I'd gleaned off the internet was corrupted in some strange way. I replaced it in the model with a exact copy of the part sourced elsewhere and the crashing when adding a note to that part ended. 

Anyone have a similar experience in the 2D drawing environment?

I've run into this issue as well with various components. It usually seems to happen when not all edges are allowing you to select them, trying to select an edge that is not highlighting will cause the drawing to close abruptly without the application itself crashing. This can really suck if you are a few pages into doing a drawing and havnt saved yet as not even a backup gets created from it closing like that.
