Hello
I just wanted to ask if there is anyone knows how to better control the leader placement when dimensioning.
I find a lot of times, that when I do radius dimension, it is very difficult to get the actual the actual arrow, to point directly to the radius, it sometimes points away from the arc or from the center making it more difficult to maintain a clean drawing.
Also, I would like to have other options for placement of dimensioning, instead of the default placements. Currently when dimensioning you cannot control the actual placement of the text. It requires you to have to escape out of the actual dimensioning, and then go back to adjust the position of the text.
Hi @SMI-CAD2
There is a known issue that I'm going to ask the team to take a look at. Hopefully the GIF below shows the workaround that I would like to share with you. If you flip between Diameter and Radius dimensions, the extension of the radius will show correctly.
This is something that we need to fix on our end.
Thank you.
I agree the diameter will allow for more choices of placement, just worried that an operator not doing the math correctly , might make a mistake when programming from the print .
This issue plagues me as well. It's extremely frustrating and has been around for quite some time. I simply will not do the workaround as you just don't dimension radii as diameters unless you want a problem. it breaks with convention.
Hi @mlangN8XKB
I think that my message was not very clear. I was trying to highlight a potential workaround to help you.
I was not suggesting that you use a diameter to detail a radius. What I was trying to show, is that switching between Radius and Diameter dimensions will give you the leader behaviour you are looking for (please take another look at the animated GIF above).
I agree that this is a problem, I will work with the team to schedule in a fix for this.
