Dogbone troubleshooting

Hi

First time posting and total rookie at design using program. I have completed 90% of my model and havent had any issue with the dogbone so far until the last two pieces in which all i get it this error of 'Failed:5:No intersecting target body was found'. I have no idea why it wont do it but its on the last two pieces.

Any suggestions would be great.

Cheers

Mick

Hello @mgenterprise,

welcome to Fusion 360 Community Forum! Thanks for posting. Could you share the model with me (see: How to share a Fusion 360 design) and describe the steps that lead to the warning? Thanks in advance!

The steps leading up to the warning.

I had laid out my pieces against my stock to get them all in the right place and went to find where i hadn't put the dogbones in. I had two pieces that i didn't put them so proceeded to select the dogbone and click the edges where i wanted to do it when the first error occurred. When i went to do the other piece it also threw up an error. I have had no issue putting the dogbone on all other pieces along the way. These two pieces go together so not sure if that's the issues but it must be something i have done in the build i am not sure.

Hello @mgenterprise,

thanks for sharing the model!. While I can see some warnings in your timeline, I have no trouble putting the last two pieces against the stock with the workflow you used for other pieces (i. e. Assemble -> Joint). I am attaching the design. Both pieces still need to be re-positioned.

If that does not help, could you record a short screencast presenting the workflow? Thanks in advance!

Pawel

Thanks for the assistance. The main issue i have is the attached image. I am trying to add the dogbone fillet to the inside corner but the error comes up. I think it must have something to do with the tab not being joined on one side correctly.

Cheers

When selected the back has the entire piece highlighted including the tabs and the front only highlights the main body

I am having exact same error doing dog bones. I did the dogbones without issue on previous bodies in project. The only difference now is that I have moved each of the bodies into components. Can this be the issue?

Hi @Anonymous

Are you using the dogbone plugin?

It's hard to say what's going wrong without looking at your file. Can you share it here in the forums? Here's a link on how to share fusion files.

Hi, I'm having trouble with the Dogbone feature in Slicer for Fusion 360. When selecting Dogbone relief type, nothing changes stuck in square mode. Any solution?

Thank you in advance.

I had the same problem. To fix this i clicked "position" so that fusion knew where i was "dogboning" correctly.
