Does Fusion support groups and layer in a step file?

I have a step file that I created from Alias to be used in Fusion 360. In Alias, I have the objects organized in groups and on layers. When I exported the data, I set the export to include this information. But when I read the Step file into Fusion 360, all grouping is lost. Can Fusion 360 be set to see the file organization?

No settings for imports. When importing from Rhino, Fusion will read blocks in STP files and create a component for each. Does Alias support blocks, have you tried importing a stp file from Fusion with components to see how they import into Alias?
