Hello everybody. I started to use FUSION 360 and I got very strange behavior right at the beginning.  Here are my steps:

1. I opened new design

2. I clicked "Create sketch"

3. I drew "rectangle"

4. I finished sketch

5. I made "Extrude" and got 3D component

6. I  clicked Design\Drawing\Drawing from design. The I created 2 views of this cube and placed dimensions

7. I returned to initial design and make additional extrusion for one side of the cube

8. I Return to drawing and saw that it is out of date. (Until now everything has its logic and I agree with it )

9. When I click yellow triangle to make update I got all my dimensions as "Disassociated Annotation"

Currently I am using trial version (maybe this is the reason?) , but I payed for 3 years license, which I will receive next week and if the problem persists I don't know what to think.

It is very simple "project". How can it go wrong? Probably I don't understand something fundamental, but I can not figure out what.

I checked the internet and I saw that this discussion has being lasting for several years, but I could not understand if the problem is resolved. Could anybody give me reference to the solution of this problem, please.

I do not think your Fusion 360 license has anything to do with it.  It is hard to tell without seeing your model and your process.  I suspect you are changing something that affects the 2D drawing dimension attachment points.  So if you would, please create a Screencast to show your steps, a visual description will tell a lot more than a text one.  Also please attach your model that your are using that shows this problem.  The Forum just needs your model and the visual process of your causing the error.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section of a forum post to attach it.

Hello

I attached the files as requested, but the sequence i listed in the previous email is very simple and it ends with the bug. Could you try it say what you get finally. Mayb my computer is the problem? I have a feeling that this happens only with "extrude" command. In another project I did the design, then I generated the drawing, then I added several holes and, when I returned to drawing and updated, everything worked fine. It happens only with "extrude".....

I understand your issue now and it is not a problem with your computer or with your Fusion 360 installation.  It may be a shortcoming of the application but I am not to judge that.  The reason the dimensions disassociate is because the "pick points", used to place them in the drawing, have moved and this causes the dimension to disassociate.  I have done a Screencast to show what happened and how to correct the dimensions.

Hello

yes, it is really like this. If any parameter of the component  (mainly position of the set of points) is changed, then everything is disassociated. Sometimes the image of the drawing dissappears as well (see Sreen3.jpg). I found that, when it happens, i Can go to the list of components, when the drawing is opened, right click the component and choose in menu "Suppress All Except Selected". The image appears again.

The entire procedure looks a bit strange. Is this a bug? If it is not a bug, then, please, tell me what is the logic behind this behavior (I can not see any reasonable one).

Thanks
