Disappearing extrude

So, I sketch a rectangle, then create a sphere. Next rectangle pattern. I extrude with the operation option intersect. The sketch vanishes but I can turn it back on. The extruded part disappears. I have been successful and have messed around with extruding multiple times and have made a component that is what I want but in cura it is a smooth top. Its late and I have a long day tomorrow and I will respond in the evening. Thanks

Hi,

Please show a picture of what it looks like in Cura.

@killbillvol13 I see that you have created a sphere. Then used the extrude intersect operation to cut it in half. Another approach can be to sketch quarter of a circle and then revolve it around the diameter. Then pattern the half sphere. Have attached the model for the reference.

I may have not completely understood what it looks like in Cura, so as suggested in above comment can you upload a snapshot of it?

Your topic title does not make sense.

You Extrude command specified to keep only the intersection between the box and the spheres.  That is exactly what Fusion did - it preserved the intersecting volume as instructed.

More information is needed about your true Design Intent.

This will be an easy one to solve.

Thank you gentleman. Here are the pictures. One where I was successful and another that did not translate the concave half circles.

If the extrude command did exactly what it was designed to do, then I need to research more as to what those commands do. I am trying to learn F360 and was experimenting with the different options for extrude. I made it work once then tried to replicate it and was unsuccessful.

My goal is to make 2 flat pieces that articulate and have a lock feature. So, I was able to make the male version of this.

Thank you for taking a look at it. I uploaded your file. When I tried to extrude down so that the half circles are on top one of two things happen; the half circles disappear or the extrude does not happen.

Safe to assume, I am ignorant of the extrude operation commands. I will read up on them.

I have created a Screencast showing you one way, of many, to create the male and female knob plates.  Play close attention to the Combine command and note I did not place a window around the complete base plate, just all of the half spheres.

I made up some dimensions but you can adjust them if you like.  I cleaned up your sketches to fully constrain them.  Model is attached.
