Disabling ADPClientServices entirely, always running even when fusion isn't ?

After debugging my fusion 360 startup issues, I noticed that ADPClientServices  Analytics Client is aggressively maintained, and keeps running after fusion exits.

It seems to churn files constantly and sits and churns files every few 100 ms or so.

I have the analytics disabled in fusion which ought to stop the process all together, but there is meant to be an option to disable it entirely and i can't find it, appreciate a pointer as to where i can disable it completely

idServices also fairly aggressively logs, but that only runs when fusion does, ADPClientServices always runs after using fusion and exiting

cheers!

The analytics service will always be running - even if you opt out of optional data collection, it is used for required data collection, too. It keeps running for a bit after Fusion closes because it is also tracking things like application session length, and should eventually close after it completes event processing.

If it never never closes, and you don't have any other Autodesk apps or services installed, then we might be looking at a bug.

it never seems to close , i just kill it manually since what's it sending/logging when no autodesk products are running? and it just seems to be writing/reading to disk pretty continuously, y'all hate ssds

i'd gone off this

https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticl
es/sfdcarticles/how-to-remove-adpclientservices-exe-from-an-autodesk-software-installation.html

it says "installed Autodesk products", but then it lists out all the ones it really means and i notice fusion isn't on it.

I don't have any other autodesk products installed, just fusion360.

i see other folks had similar issues

You mentioned you were facing startup issues - I am not surprised that it is still running if you had to force quit the app for any reason - can you confirm this is one of the scenarios in which it is staying open?

Is it also staying open during "normal" Fusion startup and shutdown, too?

yep, i was having startup issues yesterday, i was able to fixe that see https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/repair-failed-reinstall-says-its-already-installed...

i've clean reinstalled it like a dozen times, like *really* cleaned it. It is functional again now except for this processing doesn't quit by itself
