For a long time, I've "squared" off parts of circles by marking, say, the left side coincident with the circle and then applying a tangent to the top and bottom sides with the same circle. This has always resulted in a square side on the left and a half circle on the right.
In the last week or so, I'm seeing what I think is different behavior. It's no longer creating what I'd think of as a tangent, but rather something merely coincident with a tangent. The actual point I marked as a tangent doesn't actually touch the circle anymore.
Am I crazy or did something change?
Tangent: Latin root tangere, "to touch".
