Design Template??

Is there really no way to create a design template, so when you click "new design" you get a design configured with all your preferences? I like to have a 3d sketch set up with planes, etc. But It doesn't seem like I can use it as a template. I have to browse to it, open, and then save it out. Is that correct, or am I missing something?

The Design Workspace does not support templates.  The method you mention is the best method at this time.
