Design history missing

I have been using fusion 360 for a while for designing parts. It's a great software to use. However, I noticed that the design history is gone from some of my most recent designs and only a body is saved. So I can't make any chances anymore.

Are you opening these files from your saves on the cloud or you've exported to some other format (e.g. STEP) and uploaded that again? Because from the naming (having version's "v" twice) and being base feature it seems the file was once exported to a non native format and uploaded back.

Edit: by closer look only the file named "Speculum... " has lowercase "v" twice, so I might be wrong. But still please do check you're opening the native file and not an imported one.

@hamid.sh. Thank for you the quick reply. I named the file with name_version number. I was editing one of the files and saved the file with the default saving option. But this issue happened to a series of files.

Hi,

I see the design history (timeline), but not the browser tree.

Check your settings:

@g-andresen thanks for the reply. I should have been more clear. I can see the design history bar but all the previous changes I made to the design are gone. It seems that all the design history has collided into one body.

Hi,

Please share the file.

File > export > save as f3d on local drive  > attach it to the next post

Nevertheless, it remains to be noted that the browser is hidden.

the only way that design history can be collapsed into a single Base Feature (if that is what happened), is through the "Convert to DM Feature" command:

this is exactly what this command does.  It takes all the features to the left of the selected feature, deletes them while preserving the body, and replaces them with a Base Feature.

If your design contains more than one component, a truncated timeline can be shown if one component is active.  But, from what I can tell, there is not multiple components in your design.  But, if you share the design, we can tell for certain

@jeff_strater thank you for your reply. I have attached the design file. I wonder if I could undo the "Convert to DM Feature"?

unless you are still in the same Fusion session where this command was used, and the Convert feature is still in the undo stack, no, there is no way to undo this action.  If you have saved often, then you can open an older version of the design, but those are the only two mechanisms for undoing this operation.

@jeff_strater Thanks. Weirdly enough even the previous saved versions are gone
