Hi @wmhazzard,
Not a bug, Its as-designed
So, what happens when we check\uncheck "Place Objects at Origin" while deriving a component? what is the difference?
- When upstream moves the target occurrence, it will do/don't change the position of the derived geometry.
- The "Place at origin" option is meant to align a Component Origin with the Global Origin in the Target
I can give a simple example
- Lets create a document with a local "Component1" with a small cube, Save it as 'A'
- Derive "Component1" to a new document
- While derive, we will have 2 options
- Case 1 : Check "Place at origin" option
- Case 2 : Uncheck "Place at origin" option
- Case 1 :Check "Place at origin" option, Save the document as "B_Case1"
- Move the component1 in 'A', capture position, Save
- Switch to 'B' document, Get latest Updates
- Nothing happens
- Case 2 : Uncheck "Place at origin" option, Save the document as "B_Case2"
- Move the component1 in 'A', capture position, Save
- Switch to 'B' document, Get latest Updates
- Derived "component1" will move.
