Deleting / Suppressing features is unbearably slow in Fusion360

Hello!

Since the start of this year Fusion seems to have slowed down considerably, but Deleting or suppressing features takes up to 5 (FIVE!) Minutes now.

When deleting the Progressbar in the r/h lwr corner gets stuck at 74% "Processing Plane 1" for several minutes.

When suppressing features there is no Progress bar shown, just the mouse pointer indicates busy for minutes.

Sometimes it gets stuck completely.

Any suggestions?

Hi.  Is this happening on all of your models, or only on certain ones?  Can you share a file where this is happening so some of the people in this forum can take a look?

Hi, it is a problem on some designs. This particular design was worked on a lot lately, other similar designs have the same problem in a smaller scale, being slow but not having excessive lag. When i create a copy of the part the Problem is just gone.

I cannot share the full Design here, and a single Part doesnt have the problem.

I suspect a whole lot of Garbage in the timeline, how can i clean it up?

Yep, that will result in the behavior you describe.

Typically when someone does Attach a file that exhibits this behavior I see -

Under constrained sketches.

Sketch patterns rather than feature/body/component patterns.

Unnecessary Moves rather than Joints.

Unresolved issues highlighted in yellow or (gasp) red.

I generally recommend starting over and don’t do those things.

@kraemer.dampfmodellbau - yes, please do share a design that has this problem.  It will help in 2 ways:

  1. It could help us fix these performance issues in the future
  2. It could help us suggest some alternative approaches that might result in better performance.

thank you!
