When I delete the component F360 crashes every time. See video and source file attached.

You should not use Delete on components or sub-assemblies, instead use Remove.  Remove will maintain any needed underlying references to support the top level assembly.  You can Remove your sub-assembly with a right click on it in the browser and select Remove.  You model will not crash as all required references are maintained.

Interesting, thanks John. As a F360 novice I'm reading that as "remove is the safe delete". What is the use case for the hard delete then? And anyways, it's certainly still a bug that the software crashes. Thanks

I use Delete, from the browser, very little.  If I do it is for a body or component I "know" is not used in any way by another sketch, body or component and that sometimes is very hard to determine.  If you ever see yellow or red background colors on your timeline icons, this is usually because you have used the delete key and Fusion 360 is using "cached" geometry.  Cached geometry will maintain your design but not let you modify it.  I work with may Fusion 360 models and this is one of the biggest issues I see, users using the delete key too much.

Thanks John, I really appreciate it. I will be sure to use the "Remove" action moving forward. I'm going to leave this post as open for now so the F360 team can still investigate the bug with the crashing.
