Default Text Size in Drawings

I'm having a very difficult time finalizing a rather large project I've been working on. While preparing drawings, I've found no easy way to change the text size for either my leaders or my tables. I have to double click on the feature, highlight the text and adjust it for each item. This is especially frustrating when trying to make a change to one of my tables as I need to control the text size one cell at a time.

Is there any way to adjust the default text size from 3.5mm to anything else? Also, is there any way to adjust the text for an entire table on a drawing in Fusion 360?

Many thanks!

Thank you,

This solution solves the issue with adjusting the default text size.

However, it causes another issue. In my drawing, I manually adjusted all the text from 3.5mm to 5mm. After seeing this forum solution, I went ahead and increased the default font size from 3.5mm to 5mm. What this ended up doing was scale all my text. Since 5mm is about 1.42x the size of 3.5mm, Fusion360 went ahead and scaled all the text that I manually increased myself. So, since I manually set most of it to 5mm, it scaled up that text by a factor of 1.42x as well, leaving me with 7.1mm. I then had to manually revert those to 5mm again. If you're reading this post in the future and are a novice like me, I'm just letting you know in case you see some funky behavior.

This does not solve the issue where the font size for a table can be adjusted as a whole. Again, it behaves like regular text where it obeys the the default text size and scales it based on the adjustment you made from the default. The only issue is, since I painstakingly adjusted each cell manually the first time around, each cell needs to be individually reverted back again. Now that I understand the behavior of text and font in drawings, I'll be able to change my habits and approach tables the way they were intended.

Thanks @g-andresen for the solution.

Hi @acondax,

Apologies for not replying sooner. Unfortunately, you've found a bug as it shouldn't be behaving this way. Changing the text height in Document Settings should retain the manual overrides applied to text height and only increase those using the default text height. The end result is what you expected to see -- all text in dimensions, notes, tables, etc. being 5mm, some using an overwritten text height and some using the default text height.

Thankfully I can reproduce this issue here but I don't have a workaround to easily resolve the situation. As soon as I have more information from our development team I'll get back to you.

Cheers, Andrew

Hi @acondax,

Just a quick update, we've logged your issue as FDWG-12264. I don't have any timeframe for when we'll get to it yet. Once I do, I'll let you know.

Cheers, Andrew
