Deactivated components opacity

Is there a preference or setting to control the default opacity level of all of the deactivated components?

Apart from Preferences>Design>Active component visibility.

No, I do not think there is any general setting or Preference but you can select as many components in the Browser and change the Opacity Level to whatever you desire.  In my Screencast I demonstrate using the Isolate and Un-isolate functions as an alternative.  I am assuming you want better visibility of certain components while modeling.

Thinking more about this I see that the Visual style of the deactivated components changes from Shaded with Visible Edges Only to Shaded with Hidden Edges. This in combination with the low opacity of the deactivated components, also contributes the visual confusion.
