Data Panel only has default options "Web Service Unavailable"

Hello all,

This evening when I logged into F360 my data panel was empty. There is a brief message at the top of the panel that states: "Requested web service is unavailable". The only options I have in the panel are the default ones. F360_1.jpg

Things I have tried:

  • Restarting PC
  • Logging out of F360 manually
  • Checking to see if I inadvertently switched teams
  • Renaming the BrowserCache.dat files to force panel reload
  • Disconnecting from web and restarting F360 hoping for offline files

The worrying thing is that I have my off line cache set to 360 days specifically to make sure I can operate off line if needed. If I try and go offline I get an error dialog saying that insufficient data is available and I must go online. Am I doing something wrong that I cannot work offline due to a web service? That seems exactly the situation it is intended to deal with.

I'm stumped.

I did NOT uninstall and reinstall because of that "web services unavailable" message which makes me think it is not a problem since It is trying to work and is reporting back to me why it is not.

Hi @cubicle23,

thanks for posting! Can you walk through the suggestion in this article: Ports and Domains required by Fusion 360

The data panel uses an embedded web browser component based on Google Chrome, which always uses the default system proxy configuration settings. The Fusion login process also uses the default system proxy configuration. Other parts of the software, specifically our interactions with the data management service and the file upload system rely on the settings in the Fusion 360 Preferences.

Note that Fusion 360 requires that Fusion is logged into with an internet connection once every two weeks. It is necessary to get an internet connection and successfully sign into Fusion 360. You can also try to change the network e.g. to a mobile hotspot and check if Fusion can go online.

Thank you for the reply,

I was looking at those settings and wondering if Windows Firewall or Defender was trying to be "helpful" again.  I did not find any issues there but in chasing the problem upstream I did find some odd behavior on my Xfinity home gateway. I was unable to log into the gateway without using its wireless network from another device. That and F360 were the only symptoms manifesting themselves, all other devices and web activity seemed unaffected.

Essentially a complete reboot of the system from the street all the way to my PC (wired Ethernet) has restored functionality.

@robert.filiks Thank you for your time and response, the info there was right on target as to where the problem was likley to be found.

My F360 is used nearly 7 days a week and always connected to the internet. If I could impose on you for some elaboration I would be grateful. Why did the system not allow me to operate in offline mode and what should I do to check that a web outage does not prevent me from being able to use the software?
