Data Panel missing due to QtWebEngineProcess failure

[Post title and post modified by CGBenner 4/5/24]

As stated at the title, every time if I want to have Data Panel with me, this pop-up says "QtWebEngineProcess quit unexpectedly" and if I clicked ignore it'll come out again for two or three times.  Also "Fusion quit unexpectedly" every time I close fusion normally.

I have tried all the steps here Data Panel does not function in Autodesk Fusion but no luck.

I have attached the screenshots of the issues, macOS reports of errors and Fusion diagnostic logs.

My MacBookPro16,3 is running macOS 14.4, while my friend's M1 Pro with macOS 14.1.1 has data panel working just fine.

Just realised I didn't attach the macOS error reports. Here are the full reports I could get.

It seems to be that a new version of Fusion was just published, same error still occurs.

Hi @zhu_tianrui,

Are you facing this issue post the latest streamer update?

Also if this issue persists, can you try following the steps in this document: https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/The-entire-Data-Pa...

Also if still no success,

1. Can you please try 'Assign adcefwebbrowser.exe to use a specific graphics card' steps of the above article, but do the same steps for an exe located at: '%localappdata%\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\***\QTWebEngineProcess.exe' instead, check if data-panel and other sections are loading

2. Setting the driver api to OpenGL in Fusion from User Icon: Preferences -> 'General' Section -> Graphics Driver -> Select 'OpenGL Core Profile', and then check if data-panel and other sections are loading

Additionally, did this issue occur post any os/ graphics driver update?

Regards,
Anurag R. Naik

I'm having a very similar issue on the latest versions of Fusion, running on macOS Sonoma 14.5, on a whole lab of Mac Studios that we have.  The workaround I have found is that if you force it to run in Intel mode via Rosetta, it seems to be able to load everything properly. But that's not ideal as it makes the app run slower.

What's also concerning/curious about it is that this issue only occurs with the Admin/Lab Installer that we've pushed out to our Macs using out MDM (Jamf).

If I, as a user without Admin rights on my Mac, run the regular streaming installer, the Data Panel loads fine.

You can see the difference in the processes that are running. In the admin installed version, there are no QtWebEngineProcess running at all, and thus (it seems) that the Data Panel does not load.

In the other screenshot, the one from the regular user installer, you can see that the Data Panel works and there are a bunch of QtWebEngineProcess listed.

This is a REALLY big issue for us, and since we have the Educational License, we have not yet been able to get any support for this issue.  I'm hoping that maybe someone at Autodesk will see this message and respond ASAP. There have to be more people experiencing this issue!
