data panel freezes up and files can't be accessed

When Fusion 360 is first opened it briefly displays all of my data panel projects and folders and then goes to my most recent accessed folder.  I try to click on the folder to open it but the data panel is locked up.  I can't open any of the files or move to a different directory by clicking on the available icons.  I can open files from the  File Open Menu on the toolbar, but not through the data panel.  Any ideas?

Hi @Anonymous ,

Thank you for posting in the community!

Sorry to hear that is happening.

Just to check - Did you have a chance to try clear the local user cache in Fusion?  I've seen similar behavior and it was fixed by clearing the local cache.

If this did not work, can you please manually reset data panel and see if this helps?

** Please note that any data not synced with Autodesk 360 may be lost - please access your Fusion hub or team hub to make sure if data has been synced.

How to do a manual reset of the Data Panel in Fusion 360

Hopefully this helps.

Your first suggestion worked for me. Clearing the local user cache in Fusion.

Many thanks for your help.

9-18-19 Update:

My problem returned but couldn't figure out why?  Then all the sudden it would work again and I couldn't figure out why.  This morning I followed your second suggestion on renaming the data Panel cache in my local folder as you suggested.  That didn't help.

I think I finally found the problem.  I am running windows 7 and use a dual monitor setup.  I normally use my primary monitor to view fusion360.  I was doing some cad work on my main monitor so I slid my fusion360 program that was currently running over to the secondary monitor.  Apparently there is a bug in Fusion 360 that will freeze the data panel if you try to view it on a secondary monitor with a dual monitor setup in Windows 7.

I did the following to test it out.  I started fusion360 on my main monitor and it worked as expected.  I then slid it over to the secondary monitor and the data panel froze.  I then moved the fusion360 program back to the main monitor and it worked as expected.

Hopefully, I have found the issue and know how to make fusion360 work as it always did.

Maybe there is something that the fusion360 support team can do to allow me to use fusion360 on my secondary monitor without the data panel freezing up.

Thanks for your help and I hope this information will help others that may have a similar issue.
