Cut body with extrusion, or another workaround?

I have a body on Fusion 360 that I'd like to split, ideally with an extrusion due to the shape of it. It is curved by both the x and y axis so I'm struggling to come up with a way to separate it as desired. I have attached some photos showing a cut extrusion that would create the ideal solution if only it could split the body, rather than delete the front section. Could anyone offer up a solution?Screenshot 2023-08-01 at 13.45.28.pngScreenshot 2023-08-01 at 13.46.07.pngScreenshot 2023-08-01 at 13.45.56.png

Few options. As the question is not clear.

You can Split Body, with the plane your extrusion Profile lives on.  So that leaves a front and back half.

Otherwise, change to surface, Extrude the profile, and you get a cutter body, instead of removing the front face, it will cut around it.  Similar to the second pic, only all the way front to back.

Third is a combination of both, if needed.

Might help....

You did not attach your model so I will only describe my idea.  Create a Surfaces, using your sketch outline to create cutting tools to slice out the section you show.  Keep in mind surfaces , used for splitting must extend completely through the body.  If you are successful you will have a separate body where you show the remove area now.

Edit: Had a chance to get on a computer and create a model that uses the method I talked about.  Model is attached.

If that extrude-cut in your second screenshot represents the ideal solution, here is your workflow using solid modeling only:

1. Make the extrusion, but when it changes to cut, change it to "new body". The result is to separate bodies in your bodies folder.

2. Select "Modify-Combine" and select the Intersect option. As the target body select the second body you just created in step 1. As the tool body, select the initial body. Check "Keep tools"!  Click OK! Observe what you created.

3. Select "Modify-Combine" again and change it to "cut". Select body 1 as the target body and body 2 as the tool. Again, check "Keep Tools". Click OK.

4. Done!
