Cursor/Crosshair Offset

Cursor/Crosshair Offset

Hi,

For some reason the cursor is now offset from the location that Fusion360 thinks it is. Selecting things is a nightmare because you can't see where it's pointing. You can see the offset when drawing a line as the crosshair is offset from the cursor. Can anyone help. Running Fusion360 on MacOS (10.15.7)

Have you had any success in fixing this?

I would love to see engagement from Autodesk in topic related to the latest macOS versions.

It would be beneficial to have a thread stating which version of the OS is good and providing stable Fusion 360 operation and which versions should not be installed.

I've just updated my macOS to 10.15.7 (from 10.14.6 - yeah, skipped quite a few versions) and I'm not having this kind of issue.

Try to update your OS and give it a try.

kind regards

  • Can you share the Fusion version you are running?
  • Is it happening in other applications too?
  • Does it happen irrespective of what input you use (i.e. mouse or trackpad)?
  • Can you go to Preferences > Restore Defaults > Restart Fusion and check?

I have this problem too now. Occurred after the lastest fusion update.

Problem only occurs in fusion in the fusion workspace. Not in the fusion menus. Not in any other program.

macOS 12.4  on 2018 Macmini

So far:

rebooted the machine, re-set the pram

used the fusion repair tool

checked to see if the problem occured in any other place (nope).

took a screencast demonstrating the offset.

I have been having this problem too.  But for me, it only occurred when I was working on the laptop (Macbook Pro) screen and not in my docking station.  @sgoelzerI2E I'm curious, if you go to "fullscreen" mode and then back, does it fix the problem?  For me it is also in the workspace and not in menus or browser.

I had this same problem: the tip of the arrowhead cursor not matching up to the cross-wires when, say, drawing a center point circle. The fix was (as stated), click on the green dot (top left) to make display full screen (using Mac OS 12.5), then get green dot to show up again (move cursor to top of screen), and click green dot again.

Result: Now cursor arrowhead and cross wires are together.

Also, I noticed that the "Create Menu" was not remaining visible once clicked on if the (left) mouse button was released. i.e. the "toggle action" had gone. Fixing the mis-alignment of the cursor and cross wires magically fixed this error too.!

I also had this issue on Mac OS 12.3.1 since the latest Fusion 360 update. Know now how to fix it thanks to this thread. Go Full Screen, it aligns and then you can go back and it stays aligned. Thanks folks!

Apologies for taking so long to respond. When solution this was posted, I was away on vacation and had no way to test the solution on the affected machine.

Click the green 'Enter Full Screen' button at the top and the cursor is fixed.

This solution fixed the problem.

Further troubleshooting.

I have a lab full of macs. I tried logging in on different machines to see if the problem was local or just my account. It was not. Every other machine I tried had NO cursor problems. Just the one on my desk.

For Fusion360 staff to debug:

Now the only significant difference I can see between all of these systems is that my main workstation has two monitors connected. They are not identical monitors. All other systems tested had just one monitor. May not be the sources of the bug, but it is only difference I can find. I wonder if the others commenting on this thread also are running two monitor systems.

Thanks again

Hi,

Thanks so much for your reply. In the mean time, I did find this solution in other posts and it worked for me too.
You did do some good analyzing, because what you found is exactly what I have too: iMac with one extra monitor not of similar size. So this could very well be a reason for the problem if you did not find it anywhere else.

Thanks for investigating.
