Creating Even Spacing Among Odd Sections in a Sketch

Trying to create even spacing among each of these sections in this 2D sketch in a way that can keep the integrity of the formation and curvature of the rope .dxf

The aim is .031 inches between each section of rope.

Is there an easy way to do this?

Any help or direction helps, thank you!

You need to attach your model and/or the DXF file to your forum question.  If you attach your DXF you will have to zip it up.  If you do not know now to attach your model, open it in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save to your hard drive.  Then attach it using the Attachments section of a forum post.

@jhackney1972 Were you able to open it up and view the dxf?

Any suggestions?

Yes, the DXF opens fine but the content has me guessing.  You ask for a equal spacing of a rather tight number for segments that are non-prismatic.  I find this next to impossible so I have not proceeded thinking about your second requirement, maintaining the serpentine pattern.  That is where I left it, hoping someone else on the forum would take a look.

Yes I viewed the file too.

Like John I had no answers either, just didn’t say so.

Why, and what’s it going to produce for you.

Paint us a picture of your intent, and you may get the ball rolling.

Thanks for the response you two!

It will be sent to a cam.

In order for it to be a clean-cut, spacing between the segments needs to be 1/32 inches.

Would it help to make the serpentine .dxf prismatic?

Does this answer your questions @davebYYPCU ?

Your file and the name being rope, has me thinking you have a section of a rope or chain.

The file can be used in CAM, as is, but the requirement for equal spacing is just plain hard work. Line by line between the segments at a common point, Dimension one to 1/32 and make all the path lines equal.  I presume this will lengthen or shorten the current path.

If - been a while since i opened the file - the sections are / can be identical, then yes you can make one plate, as a body then Pattern on a Path becomes an available tool in the modelling area, - that is missing in Sketch.  (I don't think they are identical.)

Might help....
