Creating a shell of a really complicated car model

Hello, im making a RC car project with intentions to level up my skills in modelling from thinkercad to fusion 360. I found a blender file of the car i want on the internet and was thinking if I could somehow make a shell out of it. Many tutorials later I found myself here and want to hear something from professionals if its even possible to make a shell of this file. And what is the easiest way to make it possible.

Have a nice day (:

The attached file isn't a Blender file. It is a .stl containing a triangulated mesh.

there isn't much you can do with this in Fusion.

In general Models created in Blender or other polygon/Sub-D modeling software are usually quad mesh models used for visualization only.

IMHO this isn't a beginner project. Not in CAD an not in Blender. I've used Blender for 18n years and CAD professionally as an engineer for over 30.

Based on that experience my suggestion would be to not download stuff, but start to learn modeling from the ground up with the native tools, either in Blender, or in Fusion or both. Start withy simple models.

If you can share the Blender file we can discuss more details. You'll have to zip it to attach it.

Thanks for your reply, the file is converted to stl because I couldn’t open it in .blend

Yesterday, after uploading this question I started to learn some basics and I really enjoyed the journey of failing and improving. Im sending a photo of my progress so far and the blend file is 115MB so I cannot send it here but here is a site if you have time for it: https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/audi-a90-3c21f5beb34345bc834227d708e4d830#download

Windows and macOS both have native tools to create screenshots. Hence, posting a distorted, low-quality "screenshot" taken with a phone is discouraged 😉

Also, zipping (compressing a file with WinZip or similar software) is a common workaround in many forums and places where a file can be attached 😉

In the image, I can see that you are in the T-Spline (Form) environment. That is the correct way to convert quad-meshes into CAD geometry. However, if you want to 3D print the end result, you still might be better off doing this in Blender.

Blender natively works with meshes and you can use the Solidify modifier to thicken meshes.

I don't see where I "roasted" you. I gave you clear instructions of how not to post images and how to attach files.

Please attach the zipped Blender file, or use dropbox or similar if it is still too big. I am not interested in creating an account on that site.
