Crashing when opening a file

Since the update yesterday, I keep getting a crash when opening any file I made yesterday and today.  This has happened multiple times today on similar files, which I created by saving a copy of an older revision of a different model.  I can go back about 10 revisions on today's model and open it fine, but eventually it'll crash when switching from design to manufacturing workspaces.

I tried resetting everything through the service utility, did an uninstall and fresh install, and this is still happening.

@marshal.fitch We are tracking this issue internally as CAM-37048 and working to address this ASAP. I will contact engineering team to see if there are any alternatives to open this.

@RajkumarIlanchelian Since the last update, even when the CAM space opens it has become very slow on complex projects. load screen needed just when just changing a parameter within the toolpath editing window, not accepting the changes to generate, just typing a number. Just wanted to pass it on! Still grateful for the CAM space!

I agree with this as well, it's extremely slow since the update, even on simple projects.

We have addressed the crash on opening a file with version 2.0.13162. Can you please update and let us know if the crash is gone?

Would like to understand more on the performance issue. Are you seeing this only in the Manufacturing space? is this on Windows or a Mac?

The update seems to have fixed the crashing issue so far.

I'm on Windows, and performance issues seemed to be mostly limited to the manufacturing workspace.  Things like opening a toolpath to change settings had a delay that was longer than normal and my computer fan would spike way up.   It seems to be considerably better after the update today, but my models are all pretty simple.

@RajkumarIlanchelian I still receive a frozen loading screen whenever I edit anything within the toolpath editing window. My files are complex but reasonable for a production shop and the older older version was working just fine. Thanks for your help! Windows*

@marshall.henry I have forwarded this to our Manufacturing team and we should have someone connect on this thread very shortly. I am closely following this thread as well.

@marshall.henry We have found that having large .hsmlib files in cloud libraries has slowed down performance.

Do you have any such files?

@claire.louise.davies I have no HSMlib files. As the projects have grown in complexity, the CAM system became slower and slower, but in the past, I've found workarounds by re-deriving components into new projects to start fresh, but since this update, even that strategy has failed and it is very slow when editing and generating toolpaths.

@marshall.henry and @marshal.fitch would it be possible for you to send me an example file that you are having trouble with. Could you also please give specific details of the which toolpath you are editing and what values you are changing so that we can replicate the issue you are having. Many thanks Claire

@claire.louise.davies Hi Claire, I am not allowed to share with you the file but can answer any of your questions in great depth if needed. It is not specific to one type of toolpath. Opening a simple contour toolpath to edit the parameters causes the program to freeze for 15 seconds and when clicking a parameter to change it freezes for 5 seconds with another 5 second freeze after typing in a number. Simple Contour Toolpath generation is a 30 second freeze. My files are complex with hundreds of toolpaths per set-up so I'm fine with some lagginess for sure as there always has been an increasing amount, but these updates 4x'd the amount of time I'm looking at the blue circle of death. If there's nothing we can do that's fine, I'll sit patiently lol, I try to log about 3-6 hours every morning in the CAM space but am progressing much slower over the weeks now (heavily relying on "Compare and Edit" as it allows me to change variables without lag, generation is still slow tho.) My toolpathing desktop is an 8th gen i7 4.2 GHz cpu with an average CAM space utilization of about 20%. The warehouse Desktop is a newer 11th Gen i9 5Ghz cpu and has shown to be about 30% faster in toolpath generation but the equal slow speed of toolpath modification with a minimal cpu 15% utilization. Hope some of this is helpful!?
