Crashing since material change

Dear Autodesk Community,

Fusion keeps crashing everytime I try to open the appearance menu or open a file with an applied appearance. This started happening after a crash when i tried to apply a custom material. It wasn't anything crazy and had worked before just fine. I already tried to reinstall fusion and i cleared the cache aswell. But this hasn't worked unfortunately.

Does anyone know what I could do to fix this problem?

Hi @spepep12

Is this just a particular file, or all files? Can you share a report number that you get when you crash?

One potential workaround might be to delete (or copy to a new location to keep it as a backup) the local version of the material library while Fusion is closed:
Mac: /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Common/Material Library

Win: %localappdata%/Autodesk/Common/Material Library

If there is something corrupt in the material library that is causing problems, maybe wiping it out would fix it. On next launch, Fusion should download the defaults again.

Cheers,

Karina
