My project I've been working on for a few days now started crashing on me today while simulating my CAM program. Doesn't seem to be caused by a specific operation. It happens randomly throughout the simulation. Super frustrating as I need to get this done today and hopefully machined tomorrow... Yet I cannot verify my simulation is good...
I tried to remote access my home desktop. I loaded up fusion there and regenerated all the tool paths and ran the simulation. Same thing. That computer is very new with very beefy hardware. This computer is a little older and not as powerful. So crashing on both spectrum. I'm going to try and update some drivers and see if that helps at all.

Hi @ARTHUR-HM
Thanks for posting! Would you mind sharing a copy of the file in which you have observed these crashes? I would be interested to see if I can reproduce on my machine.
Drivers are a good place to start, so please let me know if updating the drivers resolves this problem for you.
Update: Might have something to do with the .419 Form Tool I have in there. I went through each segment individually and simulated them. Crashed on that one by itself. I then suppressed that operation and simulated the whole file, and it finished with no crash. Added that operation back, crashed again.
I'll mess with that segment to see if I can't get that working. I've used that form tool in many other similar files with no issues. Not sure why there is one here.
Hi @ARTHUR-HM
I sent you a private message, please check your inbox. I appreciate the input - this may be helpful for us in reproducing the problem once I have the file.
Alright, I was able to solve the problem. The contour op I made had an entry point that was inside of the contour selection. See photo below.
The blue arrow is the edge I used as my contour selection. The red dot is where I had my entry point selected under the linking tab. I changed it where it is shown inside the blue circle and that got rid of the crashing in simulation. Now, when I'm inside the CAM environment, not a simulation, the toolpath looks the same and generates fine with either of those two entry point selections. So I'm not sure why that causes the simulation to crash, but I've switched back and forth between locations and was able to reproduce it a few times now.
The only reason I grabbed that point marked with the red dot was because I knew that vertex was inline with my Y0. which is where I wanted my tool to enter. Grabbing a point on the contour I selected doesn't have any snap points, so getting it inline with that Y0. is guess work unless I create a separate sketch and add a point there manually. Not a huge deal. Can be done rather quickly, but would be nice if on a contour like that, if they had some sort of snap points on a circle that was clocked at 90 deg marks perpendicular from the setup orientation. Maybe I'll throw that in the idea station at some point.
Thanks for looking into this for me!
Hi @ARTHUR-HM
Thanks for sending the file over! I found that I was able to reliably reproduce the crash on both my Mac and Windows machines - I have logged CAM-9443 with the CAM development team to investigate this behavior and provide a fix in an upcoming update to Fusion. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!
EDIT - I'm glad to hear you were able to find a solution to this problem! I'll make a note of this on the ticket - thank you for sharing this information with us.
Hi There,
This problem still exists with crashes during simulation when entry points are selected. I am experiencing this problem particularly when using a 2D contour toolpath and a corner rounder cutter.
Funny thing is this is not a new file or toolpath, it is only happening since the last update this week just gone.
Getting a fix for this would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Chris
Thanks for posting! The team is still investigating a fix for this defect, but it may help expedite a solution if you can share the file in which you are having problems with me. I appreciate you reaching out about this problem.
I am trying to run a simulation of a .dwg file in my fusion 360 but when I upload the file it says it's not saved as the latest version so then I click file save as latest. Then, the fusion 360 keeps crashing and I've tried every possibility of fixing the crashing problem. Also, in the past when I did get past the part where I was able to save the file as the latest version, the components of the model would not appear.
