Crash when choosing tool for tool path…

Hi I seem to have an issue when I open the “manufacturing” window after I am done with completing my design.

what happens is is slept 2D Face to start making my tool paths for my CNC machine. When I select a tool the tool put window crashes. I am using a public computer and I don’t believe it has a real fancy processor or graphics card.

what I don’t understand is that when I was making my design there were no issues with computer performance etc however there does seem to be an issue right now with the simple task of selecting a tool. What it makes sense that there’s not enough RAM or memory in my computer to do the task of selecting a tool?

There is a known issue at the moment that requires the computer to have that the graphics card driver be updated. As you're on a public computer (I assume a school?), you're going to need to have the IT department perform an update.

Ok I took two screenshots. Yes it is like a school computer and it seems that I do have access to update the graphics card however as you can see from the screenshot I can't update it. Seems like it might be up do date?

There is also another issue when I open the tool window that WebGL is disabled, do you think that can be the cause of the issue.

A driver that is 7 years old is likely not up to date, and it also doesn't look like you have permission to update them. If you're working with an instructor or shop supervisor, it seems to me that you're going to need to involve them in getting that computer brought up to date.

I logged in as the admin and tried to update the graphics driver and it said that it currently already has the most recent graphics driver. Do you think that it’s just too old of a computer?

would this laptop drain Walmart be better?

I’ll go out and buy a $500 new laptop if needed…

One thing that seems confusing is that I did all of my modeling (in the design tab) and it all seemed to go smooth and there were no error codes and fusion 360 never crashed or froze on me but now it it after I am in the manufacture tab and I’m trying to select a tool.

does that make sense?

Have you tried unchecking this setting in preferences?

It’s good now! Seems like deselecting the preview did the trick! Don’t want to get my hopes up too high because I don’t have the most powerful computer but seems like you fixed it.

thanks!!!

I did not give your the solution to your Forum Question, I just tried to remind you to mark the post that did, it is a good Forum practice.  I will switch the Accept Solution for you to the correct post but keep this in mind for the next post you make.
