As you can see, I copied the bottom plate component, but the wheel assembly, which is a copy of the other wheel, disintegrates. However, it returns to normal when you drag it around.
At the end of the video, I tried repeating the process but only copying the problematic wheel assembly. It doesn't break.

The copied "wheel assembly" subcomponent is fixed to the bottom plate with a revolute joint.
Is this a bug?

There is no Bug here and your wheel assembly is in tack, you are just forgetting to let Fusion 360 re-calculate the model.  In the Screencast I show this.  You can either select the Compute All icon, under the Utility menu, or press Ctrl (Command on MAC) + B from the keyboard.

Hi, thanks for replying and taking time to create a screencast. In my original post I tried adding a screencast but I get an "invalid HTML code added" type of error all the time...

Anyway, why copy-pasting the subassembly WITHOUT moving, and then moving it later some distance, doesn't replicate the problem? That is, doing the same thing, just in two steps. I don't see Fusion computing all in that case. And thus, it's an inconsistency, a glitch.

This is definitely a bug! I've seen this many, many, many times in my own work.

I have never reported it because it is truly only temporary and "fixes itself" when you try to drag even just one of the the components around in the viewport. No recalculation of the timeline should be necessary.

However, I can clearly see that this startles a relative newcomer.

@Phil.E can this be recorded as a bug, please ?

I should be able to reproduce this easily.

It is indeed a bug. I added the two remaining wheels (slightly different) and now when I'm attempting to recreate the problem, it is no longer happening. Wheels stay assembled at all times.

Hi,

Thanks for the model. I can reproduce the issue up until the model is computed.  The problem is not "in" copy and paste. This is easy to see by opening the model, compute all, then copy and paste the sub assembly.

I can log a bug report with this, but without the steps that lead to this situation, it's going to be difficult to diagnose.

Thanks,
