When I try to copy and paste text, just the dotted construction box results. No text. This can't be right can it?

I just noticed that driven dimensions don't copy and paste either.

Hi @timcorbett,

Thank you for posting the Fusion 360 community!

Does this happen with a particular font or all fonts that you can select from the TEXT dialog?

As I tried this issue with Arial and some other fonts on my machine, it can copy and paste texts.

For my operation, I recorded with Screencast and please let me know if I missed something.

It will be helpful to get a better understanding of this behavior if you record your operations as well!

This web page guides you to download Screencast.

If you have any questions, please let me know - I am happy to help!

Thanks!

So I don't know why screencast can't capture my whole screen, but I certainly captured the action here. No text copied across two fonts tested. You'll also see the driven dimensions don't copy either.

Hi @timcorbett,

Sorry for my late response.

Thank you for capturing the behavior in the Screencast!

I was able to reproduced it on my machine - it seems like that windows selection does not select a text object.

I found this is known bug and it has been logged as FUS-34848.

As mentioned in this thread, if texts are exploded, it will be selected by window (at this point they are unable to edit) and then will be copied+pasted.

Or if I selected it using free-form selection, I am able to select those text objects and to copy them.

For the driven dimensions issue, I have reported it to the development team (FUS-35133).

I will circle back here once I have something to share!

Thank you for reporting these.
