Convert Object (OBJ) To Solid (Native Level Fusion Part)

I have the attached OBJ file that I am trying to convert to a native level Fusion 360 file.

(No mesh or triangles present).

I would be interested in seeing someone record a video of them converting this file so the community can learn from.

Hi,

It goes like this:

For more complex objects it is recommended to reduce the number of triangles.

I do believe the request was for the prismatic version, (no surface triangles middle option) which delivered errors my end.

Might help....

This particular object or collection of objects should be done with the prismatic conversion, which is not available to people with a free subscription.

It also works mostly with geometry so simple, that is it better to design the parts from scratch with the native tools in Fusion 360.

As @davebYYPCU has mentioned, attempting to do that returns errors.

As such I'd follow @TheCADWhisperer's advise to redesign this from scratch.

Hi,

It goes like this:

This is what I have tried in the past and was not happy with the results. Also I have the free version and Prismatic Conversion is not available. 😥

@TheCADWhisperer

Thanks for the post.

In the case of this question, I was only interested in a "quick" way to convert the model from mesh to body as a test.

(I dislike when uploaded models are only STL/OBJ and not something more useful like a STEP.)

It would be a 'cool' feature to have Fusion attempt some auto-redesign on meshes as a separate application (or is this what prismatic mesh conversion does)? I have not seen it used before and would be interested in seeing the process like @g-andresen did with his video above using the complex mesh model I provided.
