Contact sets not working in ball joint

I've created a ball joint, grounded the 'ball' part and enabled contact sets, but the socket part is still moving right through the grounded part. The actual ball movement is working well. I'm very new to this, so any help much appreciated, thanks!

Contact sets are very limited and unpredictable in Fusion 360.  In your case you have "constant" contact between each component so a Contact Set is not the answer.  A Ball Joint has three axis of movement so it is very hard to do, but adding Joint Limits is a better solution to restrict the motion.  Model is attached where I added some joint limits to illustrate.  Contact Set has been removed.
