Components grounded in an assembly are ungrounded when dropping into another file?

This is a strange one, at least it's not behaving as I'd expect.

I have a frame assembly that I use across a few designs, all the components in this assembly are grounded.

When I drag and drop the frame assembly into a new design, none of the components come in grounded.

This seems odd?  also like extra work.

When importing the assembly it should be jointed to the existing, internal settings in the import will not be lost, but grounding is always stripped out for the purpose of using Joint.

Might help....

This is correct.  Ground applies only to the active design in which it is applied.  I suspect that most people would not want grounding to apply to an inserted design.  If ground came across, then you would be unable to move that component in the top-level design.  So, if it were not built in the right place in XYZ space, you would be unable to place it in a different location.

What behavior do you want?  Do you want the design to be inserted as a rigid group, that all moves together?  If so, then use Rigid Joint, or Rigid Group in the sub-assembly.  And, ground just one of the components in that design to keep those components in place in that design.
