Cloud Credits: Does exporting files in different formats, cost credits?

Hello.

I read that "Note: Some file types require cloud translation, which can take some extra time."

Does that mean that I need cloud credits to be able to export files from Fusion 360?

Is there an overview what credits are nessacery for.

I could find a list with "Rendering, Simulation,...." but nothing what file convertion/exporting costs.

Best Regards

As far as I know, cloud translation does not use cloud credits.

No, cloud translation doesn't cost anything more than the time it takes 🙂

Note; not all cloud translation services are available to all license types. There are restrictions on what Personal Entitlements can process. I understand that's not the question being asked here, but I'm stating it for the sake of anyone else that may find this thread and have that question in mind 🙂

Hello Seth and thank you for your input.

Unfortunally it seems that it does, for some file extensions.

I found this statement at Autodesk Help - and this makes me wonder what additional costs Autodesk might impose on me:

"Export an outcome to an SAT or STL file to use it later in other CAD applications.

Note: Cloud Credits are required."

I am finding it hard to get any overview of the costs, for running Fusion 360

That's a Generative Design export. Yes, if you're doing GD, credits are required. If you're just exporting a model as a .step or .stl, there is no cost tied to it.

Generative Design is not cheap tech, by a long shot
