Cloud CAM Post, CAM Template, and Tool Library not Synced

I have updated my “Assets” folder with CAM Posts, CAM Templates, and Tool Libraries, but when I go to use them Fusion doesn’t see the files or in the case of the Tool library it’s out dated. I use Fusion across 2 pc’s and two Macs. What’s the deal?

Can you verify that you have Enable Cloud Libraries checked before we dive deeper? From your images, it does look like the templates are in the right location.

I do have cloud libraries checked, yes. This problem most consistently happens on the two PC’s I use, but also happens less drastically or frequently on my Mac’s it seems. The tool library sync is especially atrocious when going between PC and Mac.

Thanks for confirming. Always check the easy thing first. I forwarded this information to a couple developers that worked on the CAM cloud libraries and will let you know what I hear.

You mention it is worst working between Win and Mac. Are you adding libraries/templates in Mac and they are not syncing in Windows or vice versa or both? Just trying to identify a pattern.

Thanks.

I’ll add Tools to an already existing cloud tool library on my Mac, but often when I save file, close file on Mac and go to the PC, the Tools added don’t sync. It seems to be worse when addi g tools to my cloud tool library on the PC and then go back to my MAC. Something happens at times with modifications made to modeling or CAM environments. All of these things happen so regularly that I have zero trust in the system and I’m constantly afraid that when I get home or switch to a computer in the shop that some or none of the changes I made and specifically synced and manually refreshed my cloud folder, will not be the same file on another computer.

I certainly understand that though and want you to trust the syncing. One suggestion below that a developer made and I also saw in this post

"It would be interesting to see his ‘Autodesk Fusion 360/%ID%/W.login/M/index.xml’ file.  To kick start things, you could also try renaming this file.  That should cause the MDS to treat the local cache (under the project id folders in the M folder) as new and compare it against the cloud folders."

Windows: C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360

Mac: /Users/<USERNAME>/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/

One note before renaming/deleting the index.xml file, this will reset your cache so make sure you do not have any locally cached changes.

Yeah, I don’t know what any of that mean. I just need the cloud to work as advertised.

We know there are some issues, and Patrick has suggested some ways to try to get this working again.

It would be good if you could try this, and let us know whether it's helpful.

Thanks,

  Jeff

Hi -

Can you clarify exactly what you're seeing? Do the files show up properly in both the side panel (inside Fusion) and in the web view? Or is there a discrepancy between those?

Can you see if any of the steps that Patrick suggested are helpful?

Thanks,

  Jeff

I don’t know what he’s talking about honestly, and I’m not really prepared to go in and start renaming files and Messi g with the system. Am I supposed to rename files on all four computers, I mean that’s kind of ridiculous and asking for trouble.

Files show up in the left hand Fusion asset folder, but when I go to use a template or post processor in CAM environment they don’t show up. For the tool library if I ad tools on a PC or MAC they often don’t show up when I hop on a different computer.
