Closed Sketch Breaks when Moving along Axis

Hello,

I have a body that I modeled which has a curved surface that I want to emboss a logo onto.

I am unable to select the curved surface of my body as a sketch plane which is why I imported my DXF on the plane which my surface is parallel to instead.

I confirmed that my imported sketch is closed and can be extruded no problem.

From what I can find I have to keep my logo 2D as I won't be able to project it to my curved surface once extruded.

I find that I can move my logo as a free move fine but any time I move it along an axis it will ' break'  the closed shape. I tried this numerous times, making sure I had the whole sketch selected.

I would really appreciate feedback on what I can do to solve my problem.

Hi @angelika6ECA3,

I can see you have listed 2 problems.

  1. Sketch profile breaks moving along axis
  2. Cant project on a curved surface.

For 1., don't move the sketch alone axis, instead create a construction plane and redefine the sketch to the new construction plane.

For 2. Creating emboss is shown in the video

Hi,

1. Create a new Sketch Plane (Offset) and Redefine the sketch plane

2. use the emboss tool
