Changing units

If you are like me, I change between units quite often in a deign and this is way more cumbersome than it needs to be.

I would like to make a suggestion on the process to change units. Now I have to (1) hover over "units" (2) click "change active units", (3) move to the dialogue box, (4) click "unit type" and (5) click the units I want to switch to.

Wouldn't it be nice to hover over units and have the dropdown (or even the unit options right there)...(1) hover over "units" (2) click the units I want to switch to.

Thoughts?

HI

Thanks for the posting and it is a good suggestion.

But, I wonder why do you need to change the unit so often that you wish to get more easier way to change it?

If you have to switch so many times. You can just put it in the short form of that unit while you dimension it.

Suppose, I have set by default: mm.

Now in my design there is a 30 inch measurement. I just put 30in in the dimension. It immediately converts it to the equivalent value in mm and it works ok! Have you checked this out yet?

Thank you for your response. Yes I do that all the time. I tend to design in metric but some people just like seeing inches. These kind of features just make us considerably more efficient. I find myself just wanting to switch and like to make things efficient. These are simple feature improvements designers just love.

What I (and others I see) would REALLY like is a way to turn on and leave on dual-dimensions while making drawings. That would make my day!!!!
