Changing Hole and Thread Note Precision

When dimensioning a F360 drawing, it does not appear to be possible to change the linear precision of the dimensions in a hole and thread callout. Some of them appear to only be driven by the default sheet dimensions (in the case of a counterbore), which is unfortunate as sometimes we would prefer different precision on hole diameter vs depth, and this forces them to be the same precision. The precision for tapped holes appear to be completely arbitrary.

As our decimal precision affects our default tolerances and therefore the price of a manufactured part, this would be an important feature for us to have control over, and the only alternative seems to be hard-coding the dimensions into the drawing which creates risk if the model is changed but the drawing isn't updated to match.

Hi @gabrielle.boutrosFGMS4

Thanks for sharing this feedback. I can certainly see how this is a frustration.

I'd love to hear from you directly, and to get your thoughts around how we can improve this feature. We have some ideas for something similar regarding hole charts, so this could help shape our plans. If you're up for it, here is a link to my calendar, please book a 30-minute session with me, and we can chat on Zoom (note times are in 24:00 format so 03:00 is 3am, 15:00 is 3pm).

Once we've chatted, I'd like to get this feature improvement onto the public roadmap.

Has this been fixed? This should be a simple change to make.

Hi @bryanr_lund

I was really hoping to talk to more users about how they see this working, and I also want to discuss how this could influence hole tables. Right now, we have 2 requests (including yours) for this change. I'd love to talk to you about how you see this working.

Every customer request that we get, from meetings, emails, forum posts etc. gets collected and categorized in our feature request database. This information is used to prioritize the features that we build next. I've added your request to our database alongside the one above.

If you're up for it, here is a link to my calendar, please book a 30-minute session with me, and we can chat on Zoom (note times are in 24:00 format so 03:00 is 3am, 15:00 is 3pm). Or if a good old-fashioned email is more your style, feel free to ping me Clint. Brown {a} Autodesk.com

Hello, also checking in on this for an update. Any other dimension precision can be changed independent of the sheet, the hole note feature needs the same even moreso.  A general fabricated part may be perfectly acceptable at 1/16" or 1/8" tolerance on a sheet. But most drilled holes will need to be tighter, to (1/64 say). I'd go a step further that this should be a sheet setting, not just something that can be changed. It's easy to miss a note going to nominal size vice 1/32 clearance.
