Changing from Startup to Personal... issues making it work.

I've tried doing it as per instructions a couple times.. went so far as logging out my existing copy of Fusion for over half an hour.. when I log back in it's still sitting in startup mode.
My startup account started life as a student license.. not sure if that's causing the failure to change...
Ideas? any way to get a live support body to look into this?
